Management TeamOur business is about relationships, and we have a strong management team in place that understands this. They are committed to furthering the development of our financial representatives through training and guidance, so the representatives can establish enduring and solid relationships with their clients.  Lee Fortenberry, CLU®, ChFC®, CFP®Agency Director Originally from Columbus, Georgia, Lee Fortenberry has been representing Northwestern Mutual since 1991, where he got his start in the Iodice Agency, in Baltimore, MD as a financial representative. Lee then moved his way up to Managing Director in 1997. In 2001, Lee was asked to take on the role of Agency Director for the Central Pennsylvania Group, which is when he moved to the Central Pennsylvania Area. Under Lee’s leadership, The Central Pennsylvania Group has prospered greatly. During his tenure, the Agency has achieved its highest standing in Northwestern Mutual in the Agency’s 105 year history. The Central Pennsylvania Group has also achieved the National Management Award every year since 2001, won the NAIFA Manager’s Membership Award 6 times, and has won the Northwestern Mutual Growth Award 3 times. In 2010, The Central Pennsylvania Group won the Northwestern Mutual’s prestigious Achievement Award. Lee is a graduate of Erskine College, where he majored in Chemistry. While with Northwestern Mutual, Lee has attained the designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS) from the American College. Lee enjoys taking an active role in the recruiting and development of our financial representatives. Prior to his serving his clients with Northwestern Mutual, Lee was serving our country. He spent 4 years serving as a Captain for the United States Army, and 9 years serving as a Captain for the Maryland Army National Guard. Lee is a member of the Harrisburg and Carlisle Regional Chambers of Commerce as well as the Rotary Club of Harrisburg and is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), GAMA International, the Financial Planning Association (FPA), and the Estate Planning Council. Lee currently resides in Mechanicsburg, PA with his family.  Timothy Michael MulroyManaging Director While doing work with the Mansfield University orientation staff in the summer of 2002, Tim met the man that would eventually become his mentor. After a long conversation about his aspirations and dreams, it was suggested to Tim that he join Northwestern Mutual. Upon completing his internship with Northwestern Mutual, Tim decided to become a full-time financial representative in 2003. Tim has served as the Managing Director in our York office since 2008. This position allows Tim to help others in this business in much the same way as his mentor had helped him, all while still enjoying the satisfaction of assisting his clients on their paths to secure financial futures. Tim is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), Mansfield University Alumni Board of Directors, York Chamber of Commerce, Lafayette Club of York, and the Country Club of York. Tim currently resides in York with his wife Christina, and their 2 sons, Liam and Zack. He loves to spend as much time as he can get with his family, and also enjoys racquetball and golf when he is away from work.  Joseph B Filko, CLU®, ChFC®Financial Representative After teaching economics and political science at the high school level for eight years, Joe joined Northwestern Mutual in 1978 and has served continuously since that time, including over 17 years of field management. He also taught insurance and risk management courses in the College of Business Administration at Penn State University from 1994 to 2005. It has also been his pleasure to occasionally provide continuing education sessions to the attornies of his local bar association. Joe graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education. He also attained his Masters Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, also in Secondary Education. Joe currently resides in State College with his wife Beth and enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren when he is away from work. Tina GunterFinancial Representative As a member of our Management Team, Tina Gunter assists in recruiting and developing new financial representatives for our Network Office. Tina has been with Northwestern Mutual since 2005, starting in the Iodice Agency in Baltimore, MD. Tina is a graduate of Anne Arundel College in Maryland. Tina joined our team in 2008 when she moved to Mechanicsburg, Pa. She currently resides there with her 2 children, Matthew and Brittany.  Jill BineczDirector of Training and Development  Clare YannellaDirector of Recruiting and Development Originally from Marlton, New Jersey, Clare has recently moved to Lock Haven, Pa after spending 13 years with the Pittsburgh Network Office of Northwestern Mutual. Clare serves as our Director of Recruiting and Development. Her priorities are to recruit, develop, and coach new financial representatives for our Agency. She concentrates her recruiting efforts at local universities and communities in order to help grow our Harrisburg, State College, and Williamsport offices. Clare is a graduate of the College of Wooster, where she was a History major. She has been with Northwestern Mutual since 1998, and has also attained the status of Certified Coach. Clare is a member of the College of Wooster Alumni Association, United Way Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, as well as the YMCA. She spends her free time hiking, biking, and participating in Duathlons and 1/2 marathons. Christine ScottDirector of Operations  John E TreacyDirector of Network Office Supervision  Milt GreenTechnology Coach Milt joined Northwestern Mutual as a College Financial Representative while he was studying General Management at Shippensburg University of Pa. After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 2008, Milt took on the task of helping to develop the Sales Execution Team for The Central Pennsylvania Group. In January of 2010, he transitioned to his current role of Technology Coach, working with our Financial Representatives to help them better understand the hardware, software, and general technology utilized by Northwestern Mutual, as well as working to help create efficient workflows in their daily business activities. When he's not hard at work, Milt enjoys golfing and playing sports as well as spending time with his wife, Amy, and their Norwegian Elkhound, Callie. |
